DANBURY â The third annual Housatonic Valley Cycling Classic will be held on Sunday, May 18, and organizers are searching for volunteer marshals for 10 towns in the Housatonic Valley.
Marshals will direct traffic and keep the race rolling in the outlying towns. In downtown Danbury, marshals will keep the course safe, keeping people away from the race (particularly at the intersections).
The menâs race will begin in downtown Danbury at 12:15 pm while the womenâs race will begin in New Milford at 12 noon.
There will be training sessions, at least one of which each marshal is required to attend. Anyone interested in volunteering can get the forms at Bethel Cycle, Greenwood Avenue, in Bethel or by contacting marshal coordinator Judy Cunningham at 744-6893 or hvcvolunteers@aol.com.
