Rita Baudisch

Rita Baudisch, 77, of Stamford, died on March 12 at the home of her daughter in Sandy Hook. Born in Stamford, February 6, 1923, she was the daughter of the late John D. and Mary (Pieretti) Gianesello.

She was the mother of Barbara Frey of Sandy Hook.

She had resided in Stamford all her life. She graduated from Stamford High School Class of 1941 and Merrell School of Business in 1943. She was an avid bowler and active member of the Senior Center of Stamford.

Survivors also include another daughter, Audrey Michael of New Canaan; two sons, Douglas Baudisch of Bridgeport and Richard Baudisch of Stamford; a brother, Frederick P. Gianesello of Bridgeport; 13 grandchildren, Tracey Cleri of Stamford, Tara Frey and Gary P. Frey, Jr of Sandy Hook, Maximilian, Zachary and Portia Baudisch of Sandy Hook, Emily Bronson Baudisch and Charles Bronson Baudisch of Newtown, and Jessica, Shannon, Dylan, Jasmine and Thomas Michael of New Canaan.

A memorial mass was celebrated at St Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 566 Elm Street, Stamford, on March 16. Interment followed at St John’s Roman Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum, Darien.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Regional Hospice of Western CT, 30 West Street, Danbury, CT 06810.

The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, handled the arrangements.
