Getting Ready For Passover
Getting Ready For Passover
DANBURY â Congregation Bânai Israel is inviting the public to participate in a four-part series, âGetting Ready for Passover,â a program underwritten by a grant from the Jewish Federation. The program is geared to adults and school-age children.
The first three sessions will take place on consecutive Sundays from 9:30 to 11:30 am on March 26, April 2 and April 9. Participants will explore the Haggadah through small group discussion complimented by Rabbi Mayerâs teachings. The classes will enhance participantsâ knowledge of Passover and build Seder skills.
The Beit Midrash is intergenerational. Studying with a child or grandchild can be rewarding. Those who do not have a partner will be teamed with a âstudy buddy.â
The series will conclude with a special Shabbaton on Saturday, April 15. Series start at 9:30 am; childrenâs services begin at 10:45. Following kiddush, there will be exploration of âWhat Are the Stories of Passover and How Do We Tell Them?â
There is no charge for this program. Donations are appreciated. Participants are asked to register for the program so that there will be enough materials available. All sessions will take place at Congregation Bânai Israel, 193 Clapboard Ridge Road in Danbury. Call the synagogue at 792-6161 for reservations or if there are any questions.
Glover Hawley was Newtownâs first postmaster.
