Diabetes Alert Day At St Vincent’s

BRIDGEPORT — St Vincent’s Health Services will present “Diabetes Alert Day” as part of the nationwide program on Tuesday, March 21, from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm at Toscano Park (hall above the Knights of Columbus Council 16 Hall), 2540 Park Avenue, Bridgeport.

This program to educate the community about diabetes symptoms and treatment is free and open to the general public.

According to Anthony Iorio, coordinator of the Diabetes Alert Day, “Participants will get a chance to learn about the symptoms and treatments of diabetes from the experts in a comfortable atmosphere, and the event will be informative yet enjoyable. It is part of St Vincent’s commitment to community education and health.”

The health event includes physician’s talks by five diabetes specialists on active staff at St Vincent’s Medical Center speaking on different aspects of diabetic health; the opportunity for individuals to speak with a registered dietician, diabetes educator, and other health care professionals about the disease.

Informational material will also be available.

Diabetes Alert Day is presented with support form the James DeLibro Endowment Fund, created to offer individuals and families help in dealing with diabetes.

Space is limited. To reserve a space or for more information, call St Vincent’s Health and Lifestyle Center at 203/576-5500.
