CT Audubon Society Seeks Docents
FAIRFIELD â Do you enjoy children and nature? Are you concerned about the future of the environment? Then join the Connecticut Audubon team of volunteer docents and educate the students of today to be the Earthâs stewards of tomorrow.
The Connecticut Audubon Center, at 2325 Burr Street, is looking for volunteer docents to lead elementary school children on walks through Larsen Wildlife Sanctuary. The time commitment is two hours per week in the spring and fall. No prior natural history background is needed.
A âWelcome and Larsen Sanctuary Run-throughâ workshop will be held at Connecticut Audubon Center on Thursday, March 30, from 9:30 to 11:30 am. Connecticut Audubon educators will explain the docent program, provide helpful hints and techniques on interpreting nature to children, and demonstrate the basics for leading a group.
