The Journey Takes Flight:
A Womenâs Seder
SOUTHBURY â On Sunday, March 21, from 4:30 to 8 pm, The Federation, Jewish Communities of Western Connecticut Inc will present âThe Journey Takes Flight: A Womenâs Seder.â
More than 100 women from communities all over Connecticut are expected to join in song, dance, laughter, and prayer in celebration of Passover. There are some traditional elements of the Seder included in the program; however, this is a very nontraditional Seder.
Each year Linda Goodman and Julie Clark combine their talents to create a one-of-a-kind program that highlights issues women face today. Last year included a silent auction and area women artists donated their works of art to raise funds for local charities that target women and children. The $1,800 raised went directly to these charities.
This year the auction has grown with even more women participating. There is something for everyoneâs taste and budget.
A sumptuous Kosher Sephardic meal will be served, including chicken soup and matzah balls.
There will also be a collection of nonperishable items for local food banks and new unopened toiletries for women and children.
There is a fee for this event: Women age 13 and older are $36, while ages 12 and under are $18. Reservations must be paid by Wednesday, March 17.
The Federation is at 444 Main Street North. For further information, call Cynthia Burger at 203-267-3177.
