Ferocious Sunflowers: Offensive leaders were Anna Cartelli and Carly Swierbut. Claire Dubois and Brooke Antous stood out on defense
Purple People Eaters: Angela Carriero and Sienna Cummings were offensive standouts, while on the defense it was Colleen Phaneuf and Samantha Bicho.
Firecrackers: Offensive leaders were Evie Schwertley and Alison Kelleher; on the defense it was Grace Pettinelli and Katie Ryan.
Blue Monkeys: Carli Carpenter and Adelaide Meier led the offense. Defensive leaders were Shawna Tucker and Julia Sullivan.
Celtics: Holly Ankers and Kaitlyn King were offensive standouts; on defense it was Anna Burns and Liza Gentrup.
Cheese Doodles: Offensesleaders were Angela Vodola and Jenna LaVelle. Defensive leaders were Genevieve Murray and Carlie Smith.
Bantams
Orange Crush 21, H2O 15: For the Crush, Alexis Mason and Catherine Rizk led the offense, while Sarah Lindell and Allie Reczek were strong on defense. For H2O, Sarah Houle and Catherine Shaw led the offense with aggressive defense by Ashley Santore and Allie Nuzzo
Crazy Bananas 17, Dark Sharks 14: For the Bananas, Julia Doyle and Lauryn Ankers led the offense, with Abby Pearson tough on defense. For the Sharks, Julia Haskins and Lexi Leidlien led the offense, while Rachel Phillips and Alex Futterman were tough on defense
Jolly Ranchers 12, Hot Tamales 4: For the Ranchers. Elizabeth Weisgerber was good on offense with Shannon Cheh and Jordan Williams aggressive on defense. For the Tamales, Dani Otero and Olivia Hage led the offense, while Kaitlyn Child, Katie Bassett, and Lauren Carrino were strong on defense.

Playoff Play-down Games
Purple Crush 39, Rim Rockers 26: After losing to the Rim Rockers a couple of weeks earlier, the Purple Crush had to bring their âAâ game to advance to the first round of the playoffs. The Rim Rockers, who were finally back to a full squad after suffering several injuries, were quick to put the first points on the board. The quick feet of Dale Shearin and Jenna Hansen helped to get the ball upcourt for the Rim Rockers and by the end of the first quarter the Rim Rockers were ahead 7-6. The Purple Crush, inspired by six points in the second quarter by Shaina Stamp, were about to show that they were not to be shut down. Not even the intense defense of Emily Turco, Abby Callery, or Elyse Knapp could possibly shut down the Crush. Eight of their ten players scored for the Crush, with Stamp leading the group with a total of 12 points. For the Rim Rockers, Kelly OâConnel was the high scorer with 11 points. To help preserve the win, Emma Rizk and Emily Grimes added six points apiece for the Crush. Alexis Jacuzzi and Tonya Tucker were strong on defense for the Purple Crush.

Playoff Games
Huskies 42, Purple Crush 31: Behind the sharp shooting of Siena Cicarelli, the Huskies jumped out to a 9-4 lead by the end of the first quarter. Tightening down their zone defense, the tides were about to change. The Crush scored ten points in the second quarter to the Huskies eight, slowly closing the gap. Even with the intense defense of Kerry Scallon (6 steals) and Maddie Fletcher, the Crush continued on their rampage. Emma Rizk dropped six quick points in the third quarter for the Crush. Ashley Marks inches from a three-point shot dropped a couple, Tonya Tucker, Alexis Jacuzzi and Shaina Stamp also added points in the third for the Crush, giving them the lead of 29-26 at the end of the quarter. The Huskies were to have no part of losing. Applying the press, they had the Purple Crush completely under fire, and melting quickly. The quick hands and feet of Emily Davis, Kate Butera, and Scallon tied the Crush up and shut down their offense allowing only one bucket by Emily Grimes in the fourth quarter. Four of the players for the Huskies scored eight or more points in the match, with Scallon scoring 11 points, Cicarelli with 12, Sierra Mather with 8, and Brittany Gonzalez with 9.
 Chaos 23, The Huskers 22: In another close contest, the higher seeded team prevailed. Chaos came out ready to attack and quickly posted nine points on the board to the Huskers 4. Anna Northrop and Emily Riley both scored two baskets apiece for eight of the teams nine points in the first quarter. Northrup and Jess Principi were all over the ball for Chaos, as were Bethany Dubois and Amanda Cirella for the Huskers. After three quarters, Chaos led 19-12, but the Huskers were not calling it quits. The defense, led by Carly Grossano, Jamie Duncan, and Christina Badiola, held the Chaos to only four points in the fourth. Samantha Kruzshak and Jess Amante scored. Jenny Indelicato found her shot and dropped five points in the fourth. Amanda Cirella dropped a three-point shot and Jamie Duncan added two points, but the Huskers ran out of time before they could run past Chaos.
Boys
Grade 2
Wildcats: Max Hanson, Robert Hetzer, Ethan Braddock, and Kyle Good sparked the Wildcat defense with numerous steals and solid rebounding. Offensively, the Cats were led by Kyle Sullivan, Jack Kuligowski, and Josh Taylor with terrific passing and scoring.
Orange Crush: James Tibolla, Andrew Tomasino, Jack Stenz, Jack Street, and Jared Dunn led the Orange Crush offensive attack, while William Archiere, Luke Hannan, Tucker Depuy, Kieran Coffey, and Sean Roche grabbed rebounds and shut down the opposition on defense.
Huskies: The huskies were led by solid offensive performances by Joe Rios, Quinn McAndrew, Nathan Bellagamba, and Dillon Robinson while Keenan Murphy and Rohan Manusukhani dominated the glass and Kyle Griffin and Jack Lydon led the defense.
Celtics: Great all-around effort from Kevin Gong, Darren Huffman, Shaine Luziettim and Ethan Shaffer.
Wolverines: The offense was led by Brandon Lutz and William Swierbut. Defense by Jacob Riley and Sam Eppers.
Striker: Offensive standouts were Elias Enriquez, Alexander Lloyd. Defensive leaders were William Crebbin and Christopher Giacin
Warriors: Patrick Grover, Justin Engler. and Hunter Kirkman all played strong games.
Grade 3
Slimers vs Golden Retrievers: Todd Petersen led the Dogs with a triple double. Gabe Stewart and Garret Mandarano ran the offence with precision while Nick Accousti had 10 steals and eight points, Henry Vaughn, Matt Jaeger, and Griffin Estes were defensive giants. Slimers led a balanced offensive attack with Thomas Hartley, Chris Maturo, James Clifford, and Connor Hughes, while Jack Hannan, Matthew Blanco, Vincent Genovese, and Derrick Lewis imposed their will on the defensive side of the ball.
Red Heat vs Ghostbusters: The Red Heat had a good game with every player contributing. Offensively they were led by Danny Schreiber, Jared Tod, and Ryan Burns. Bobby Elston, Trevor Bottom, and Luke Fisher were around the ball on defense and did a great job rebounding.
Magic vs The Mighty Squirrels: The Magic was aggressive and applied constant defensive pressure throughout the game. The tenacious defense was led by Thomas Luciano, Ty Dickinson, and Gavin Connors. The offensive effort was ignited by Thomas Briscoe and Charlie Asetta.
Grade 4
Wildcats 18, Bull Sharks 10: Jake Pirone had six points for the Wildcats. Tristan Crone had three assists, Dino Vogiatzis led the defense with four steals and Kyle Chernoff had six boards. For the Bullsharks, John Finnegan had four points while Ryan Mailloux had three assists, Timmy Shaw had five steals and Riley Burns had seven rebounds
Wildcats 10, Hotshots 10: Greg Brissette had 10 points for the Wildcats, while Marc Carlson ran the offense, Zach Demeglio had four steals and Jacob Duffy chipped in with six boards. The Hotshots were led by Matt Sadowski who had four points. Liam Deakin had two assists while Cole Demeglio had three steals and Kevin Riccardi had six rebounds.
Fire Dragons 30, Skyhawks 16: Ryan Escoda and Robert Murray combined for 20 points for the Fire Dragons. Adam Wolff had three assists while Jack Ciaramello had four steals and Rhett Saunders had seven rebounds. For the Sky Hawks, Thomas Skrelja had seven points, Matt Principi had four assists and Sterling Radasci had five steals and Jon Grimes pulled down nine rebounds.
Panthers 16, Thrill 12: The Panthers were led on offense by Silas Decker with 14 points. Nick Harper had three assists, Daniel Fore had five steals while Christian Adam had six rebounds. Joshua Dunn and Dave Daria each had five points for the Thrill. Wyatt Moyer had three assists, Bobby Ward had five steals and Grant Moxham played an outstanding defensive game.
Huskies 15, Dark Knights 15: For the Huskies Andrew DeLuca had 11 points. Owen Walsh had four assists, Cameron MacDonald led the defense and Alex Streethad seven rebounds. For the Knights Dyan Champagne and Chris Daubert combined for 11 points. Owen Rahr had five steals, Ben Terry had four assists, and Tom Coppinger had six rebounds.
Grade 6
Greenwich 54, Newtown 39: Jared Pearson and Matt Gerics led the team with nine points each. Michael Doyle shot well with six points, Ethan Carpenter had five points. Devin Luzietti and Dillon Palumbo each scored 4. Josh Houle and Jamie Cochrane played a strong defensive game.
Newtown Gold 53, Wilton 43: Newtown produced its highest point total of the season in winning the first round of the FCBL playoffs. This total team effort was reflected in the evenly distributed scoring: Mason Melillo, Ryan Shaw, and Matt Maturo each scored nine points and were aggressive on the boards; Tim VanderHave added eight (in addition to some nice passes); Geoff Santore (long three-pointer) had 7; Alex Gerbo and Austin LeBlanc netted four points each. Matt Elias, James Frazzetta, and Kieran Lynch did a great job setting up scoring opportunities, as they each had at least three assists.
Newtown Gold 49, New Fairfield 46: Newtown advanced to the FCBL Championship with an exciting come from behind victory. Trailing 43-31 entering the fourth, Newtown mixed a trapping half-court defense with a full court man press to outscore New Fairfield 18-3 over the final stanza. Mason Melillo (6 points, three blocks) calmly sank two foul shots with 22 seconds remaining to tie the score. After forcing a turnover, Geoff Santore buried a three-pointer from the right side with seven seconds left for the winning tally. Ryan Shaw (8 blocked shots) and Matt Maturo shared high-scorer honors with 11 points each. Alex Gerbo (another great job on the defensive glass) and Matt Elias added seven apiece. James Frazzetta and Austin LeBlanc led the pressure defense with several steals, while Kieran Lynch was instrumental in breaking the opponentâs press.
Magic 50, Celtics 46: Nick Samuelson was in the zone for the Magic, scoring a season high 25 points. Hunter Booker led the team with four assists. Peter Winans led the team with three steals and Lucas Ladestro worked the boards grabbing five rebounds. Celtics scoring was led by Jack Procaccini with 17 points and Jake Oliger with 13 points. Stephen Brittin led the team with five assists. Kyle Keeping led the team with four steals and James Barry had six rebounds.
Thunder 36, Huskies 35: Bryan Kiley led the Thunder with eight points while Thomas Gavel and Christian Thanasoulis each added seven. Spencer Johnson led the team with five assists. Dylan Tyrell led the defense with three steals and Patrick Briscoe grabbed five rebounds. Huskiesâ scoring was led by Nick Bourgeois with 16 points and Declan Sullivan adding another eight points. Charlie Fletcher led the team with five assists. Andrew Ross created opportunity for the Huskies with four steals and John Delrossi worked the boards for five rebounds.
Wolfpack 46, Hurricanes 42: Sam Czel led the offensive charge for the Wolfpack, scoring 12 points with Nick Rohrbacher adding another 11. Michael OâKeefe led the team with six assists. Tucker Kistner led the team with four steals and the âTwin Towersâ Jimmy Buck and Boris Kudlak each getting scores off the boards. Colin Patrick had a season high 23 points for the Hurricanes. James Accousti led the team with five assists. Jerl Draper led the team with four steals and Dylan Solano grabbed five rebounds.
Grades 7â8
Playoffs
Wildcats 34, Wizards 30: For Wildcats, Patrick Berger and was the high scorer with 15 points. Kaj Djone and Jordan Sock added 13 points. The rebound leader was Eric Cascone. Bobby Silver had a great game with seven points. For the Wizards, Don Sun was the high scorer with 10 points. Nate Dowd was the assist leader, Michael Unschuld the defensive star and Brian Arnold the rebound leader.
Cavs 55, Wildcats 31: For the Cavs, Drew Tarantino was the high scorer with 24 points. Richard LaPak was the defensive star and Nick Norberg the rebound leader. Matt Wood contributed eight points and Like Rustici added 6. For the Wildcats, Bobby Silver was the high scorer with eight points. Patrick Rowley and Eric Cascone combined for 13 points. Mitchell Godin was the defensive star and Sean Reilly the rebound leader. Great team effort.
Thunder 44, Vipers 42: Nick Lottrecchiano hit the game winning free throws with four seconds left to give the Thunder the win in overtime. Dave Miller chipped in nine points and Grant Ricketts added eight to balance the scoring. For the Vipers, Stephen Grasso was the high scorer with 17 points. Stephen Walsh was the assist leader, Colten Moroney the defensive star, and Shay DeMarche the rebound leader. It was a hard-fought game going into overtime.
Nuggets 55, Runninâ Rebels 29: For the Nuggets, Brenden Peterson and Wesley Morlock were the high scorers with 14 and 10 points respectively. Matt Janco was the assist leader, C.J. Dunn the defensive star and Griffin Davis the rebound leader. An equal game was played through the half until the Nuggets slowed down the potent offense of the Runninâ Rebels. For the Rebels, Shane Quimby and Alec Clark were the high scorers with 13 and five points, respectively. Jacob Moore was the assist leader, Alex Clark the defensive star and Chris Hartley the rebound leader. Robbie McCabe had five steals and four rebounds.
Eagles 44, Magic 20: Joe Santella was the assist leader, Sean Kelmsley the defensive star, and Cal Brock the rebound leader. Bobby Lydon and Julian Dunn combined for 38 points. For the Magic, Riley Cross was the high scorer with 12 points.
Huskies 49, Wolfpack 38: For the Huskies, Bryce Decker was the high scorer with 14 points. Mike Cirone was the assist leader, Owen Gaston the defensive star, and Nadimul Haque the rebound leader. For the Wolfpack, Virgil Procaccini was the high scorer with 16 points. Alex Romeo was the assist leader, Danny Romeo the defensive star, and Ben Payne the rebound leader.
Bricklayers 41, X-Men 40: For the Bricklayers, Connor Miller and Pat Afriyie were the high scorers with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Jaret DeVellis was the assist leader, Nate Steinbrey the defensive star, and Connor LeMay the rebound leader. For the X-Men, Tom Floros and Bobby Archiere were high scorers with 24 points combined. Greg LaRussa and Tommy Shaker were the defensive stars.
Jazz 42, Celtics 38: For the Jazz, Otto Kerler and Harry Depuy were the high scorers with 21 and 12 points respectively. Austin Raftery and Jack Corbett were the defensive stars. For the Celtics, Tim Kelly was the high scorer with 17 points. Jon Schwartz was the assist leader, Trevor Lopez the defensive star, and Tim Kelly the rebound leader.
Heat 35, Hammerheads 34: For the Heat, Matt White and Jack Lago were the high scorers with 11 and nine points, respectively. Conrad Morris had a strong all around game adding seven points and solid defense. For the Hammerheads, Ryan Szalay was the high scorer with nine points. Spencer Brindley was the assist leader, Andy DeWolfe the defensive star and Mike Davenport the rebound leader. Danny Colucci chipped in with six points with great outside shooting.
