Garner Inmate Arrested Twice On Assault Charges
Based on separate incidents that occurred on March 4 and on February 25 at the high-security Garner Correctional Institution at 50 Nunnawauk Road, state police arrested a Garner inmate on a total of four criminal charges.
On March 4, state police arrested inmate Tony Panciera, 25, on charges of assault on a public safety officer and failure to submit to fingerprinting following their investigation into an incident in which Panciera allegedly threw urine at a 40-year-old male Garner correction officer. The officer was not injured.
On February 25, state police arrested Panciera the same two charges, after investigating an unspecified incident that occurred at Garner.
Panciera is scheduled to appear again in Danbury Superior Court on those four charges on April 7.
When the Garner incidents occurred, Panciera was being held at Garner awaiting trial on a pending criminal charge stemming from a July 2009 incident in eastern Connecticut.
