Boston University, Boston, Mass., awarded academic degrees to 1,445 students in January 2010. Among the graduates was Laura K. Schroeder, who received a Bachelor of Science in Communication, Magna Cum Laude.  

Also at Boston University, Evan T. Ritzinger and Yi Ying Lee, of Sandy Hook, were named to the Dean’s List for the fall semester.

Wooster School located in Danbury recently announced following Sandy Hook residents that earned a place on the Semester 1 Honor Roll for 2009–2010. Sixth grade student Tess Vogel achieved High Honors, seventh grade student Max Bratter was named on the Honor roll, tenth grader Corey Allred achieved High Honors and tenth grader Emily McInerney was named on the Honor roll.

Katherine Condon, of Sandy Hook, has been named to the Dean’s List for the Fall 2009 semester at Elms College in Chicopee, Mass. To qualify for the dean’s list a student must have a grade point average of 3.5 or better for the semester and complete at least 12 credits.

Megan Kristen Rogers, daughter of Robert and Linda Rogers of Sandy Hook, was named to Fall 2009 semester’s Dean’s List at Juniata College, Huntingdon, Penn. Megan is a senior at the college studying unified elementary and special education.

Shannon E. Sauer, daughter of Marilyn Matern and granddaughter of Mary Martern, recently accepted for an APPIC Internship Matching Program with Duke University’s Department of Psychiatry’s Adult Cognitive Behavioral Track program. Shannon earned her bachelor’s degree at Gettysburg College, her Master’s degree at the University of Kentucky, and is working toward receiving her PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Kentucky once she completes her one-year internship at Duke University.
