Eli Vetrano, 93, of Yonkers N.Y., and a 25-year resident of Boynton Beach, Fla., died February 27. He was the son of the late Gennaro and Theresina Coppola Vetrano, and is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Rose Marie Filippone Vetrano.

His loving children and spouses Eugene and Sharon Vetrano of Sandy Hook, Francis and Linda Vetrano of Yonkers, and Diane and Charles Vaccaro of Yorktown, N.Y.; his adoring grandchildren Alexandra and Alyssa Vetrano, Brianna Vaccaro, Jeanine and husband Tony DeMarco, Brandi and husband Michael Shelton, Vanessa and husband Everett Vaccaro, and Stefanie and husband Joseph Pestone; four great-grandchildren; his sisters Kay Gardella, Beulah Politi, and Catherine Vetrano; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive Mr Vetrano. His siblings John, Neal, and Cosimo Vetrano, Clara Didonato, Corinda Mazzuca, Lena Cardillo, and Carmela Castriana predeceased him.

He lived for and cherished his entire family.

Mr Vetrano was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army Corps of Engineers in England, France, and Germany. He was a member of Lowry Post VFW, Italo-American War Vets Post 77, and a retired member of IUOE Local 137.

Mr Vetrano worked for many years for Mt Vernon Contracting Corp. He was also a youth Little League baseball coach.

He was a former parishioner of St John the Baptist Church in Yonkers, where he was a past member of The Holy Name Society, CYO, and an usher.

Memorial visitation is scheduled for Sunday, March 15, from 1 to 6 pm, at Flower Funeral Home, 714 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers. A memorial Mass will take place Monday, March 16, at 10:45 am, at St John the Baptist Church, 688 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers. A memorial Mass for Mr Vetrano took place March 2, in Boynton Beach.
