Volunteers Sought For New Benefits Oversight Panel

The first selectman’s office is seeking residents interested in serving on a number of local commissions. The newly formed Employee Benefits Oversight Committee is seeking individuals with preference to those who may have experience or knowledge about the insurance industry.

This group will require very limited participation, with attendance at quarterly meetings.

The Commission on Aging has two alternate positions open, one to any registered voter other than Republican and one to any registered voter.

The Fairfield Hills Authority has a vacant position for a Republican or unaffiliated voter. Visit www.newtown-ct.gov, Boards & Commissions, Fairfield Hills Authority for more information.

The Hattertown Historic District, Sustainable Energy Commission, and Lake Lillinonah Authority have had long-term openings as well.

Interested volunteers are encouraged to contact the first selectman’s executive assistant by phone or mail, at the Office of the First Selectman 3 Primrose Street, Newtown CT 06470, or by calling 203-270-4203. To learn more, refer to www.newtown-ct.gov, Boards & Commissions for details and meeting schedules.
