Horse Trailer Advice At Post
WATERBURY â Although it is hard to think of spring just yet, especially if your horse trailer is buried under the snow, this is actually a good time to start thinking about all the things you need to take care of before you use your trailer again.
It is also a really good time to think about what to look for if you are considering buying a trailer, or just need some tips on hooking up or backing up.
Craig Bergeron, from Connecticut Trailers, will be at Post University on Friday, March 25, at 7 pm, as part of Postâs Quiz The Experts Series, to give lots of advice, expert information, and tips on many of the all-important aspects of horse trailers. He has asked his girlfriend along to address âtrailering from a womenâs perspectiveâ since so many women own and drive trailers.
Bergeron is bringing a trailer to showcase the important features that need consideration if you are thinking about buying one â including a conducted tour so attendees can see for themselves.
He will also discuss the selection of towing vehicles, winter care, and annual maintenance so the trailer lasts a long time. Tips on safety and proper hitching techniques will also be part of this presentation.
The program is on the Waterbury campus of Post University (I-84 Exit 17 to Country Club Road; follow signs) in the Eagles Nest, Leever Student Center. Admission is $10 at the door, and is free to Post students.
The Quiz the Experts series is organized by the Post University Equine Resource Committee to provide topical and up-to-date information on subjects related to the ownership, care, and training of horses.
Proceeds from the lecture series benefit equine scholarships and the Equine Program at Post University. For further information, call 203-596-4631 or email CBaker@post.edu.
