Mary Jean Gajnos

Beloved Mother And Grandmother

Mary Jean Gajnos, 94, a lifelong resident of Bridgeport, died March 5, at Masonicare at Newtown. She was the widow of James Gajnos. She was born in Bridgeport on November 5, 1916, a daughter of Elmerinda and Guilo Chirico.

Two daughters, including Elmerinda (Ellie) Sessa, and her husband Lewis, of Sandy Hook; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews survive Mrs Gajnos. In addition to her beloved husband, she was predeceased by three siblings.

Mrs Gajnos held many jobs in life, and for many years she worked in the meat department at Pantry Pride. She was proud to be a union steward there. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the nurses and staff at Masonicare for the care and devotion over the past eight years.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated March 8. Interment was in St Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford.
