Mascia, Jr

Devoted Husband

And Father

James J. Mascia, Jr, 64, of Fairfield, the beloved husband of Vanisse J. Mascia for over 41 years, died suddenly, March 7, in St Vincent’s Medical Center. He was born in Norwalk to James J. and Valerie P. Mascia, Sr.

In addition to his wife, Mr Mascia is survived by three children; his sister, Melody Fagan, and her husband Michael, of Newtown; his three cherished grandchildren; and several other relatives; and his three Irish wolfhounds. He was predeceased by his brother, Carmine.

Mr Mascia was a sheet metal mechanic with Local Sheet Metal Union #38 prior to his retirement. He was dedicated to youth baseball programs in Fairfield and was a past member of the Board of Directors of Fairfield Pop Warner. He loved to fish and hunt.

A memorial service was scheduled for Friday, March 11, at 10 am, at Calvary St George’s Episcopal Church, 755 Clinton Avenue in Bridgeport, with the Reverend Alice Mindrum officiating. Interment will be private.

Calling hours were scheduled for Thursday, March 10, from 4 to 8 pm, at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road in Fairfield Center.
