Yoga Class To Benefit Relay For Life

There will be a yoga class at Edmond Town Hall on Tuesday, March 22, from 9:30 to 10:30 am, to benefit Newtown’s Relay For Life fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.

Lisa Liotta, a yoga teacher for ten years, will be leading the class in Iyengar-style yoga.

“This yoga is good for beginners, intermediate, and advanced students,” she said. “No prior experience is required.”

Ms Liotta, who works at Kempo Karate in Wilton, trained with YogaFit in Hermossa Beach, Calif. She is the sister of Bobbie Poeltl of Newtown, whose team, Flex Your Muscles, will be walking in the relay in June at Newtown High School.

Ms Poeltl and Alice Baye are co-captains of the team and are sponsoring this fundraiser. There is a suggested donation of $12 or more; all donations will go directly to the American Cancer Society.

A sign will be posted in the Edmond Town Hall lobby to let participants know which room will be used for the yoga class. Water and fresh fruit will be provided. Participants should bring mats and dress in comfortable clothing for stretching and moving to yoga positions.

To reserve a spot, call Bobbie Poeltl at 270-9738 or Alice Baye at 270-7346.
