Use A New Number
To Get FISH On The Hook
To the Editor:
FISH of Newtown has been driving Newtown residents to medical appointments since 1969. For this purpose FISH of Newtown has employed an answering service where clients can call and leave their names and other information.
This information gets picked up, or collected, by a FISH volunteer on the evening before the day he or she drives clients to their appointments. FISH clients offer a small remuneration to help defray the costs of the answering service.
Over the years this system has worked extremely well.
On Monday, the 28th of February, Doris Bolmer, president of FISH of Newtown, was notified that as of 5 pm on that day, the telephone number would no longer be in service. No other phone number was suggested.
Faced with such an unprecedented, unbusinesslike, abrupt, and inconsiderate termination of service, Mrs Bolmer set about finding a substitute answering service to take FISH calls.
She is happy to announce that as soon as the new line can be hooked up the new FISH telephone number will be 791-7305.
FISH regrets the rude interruption of their volunteer service and still cannot understand how a business can simply terminate a contract without giving due notice.
