The Joy Of Cancer Survival
The Joy Of Cancer Survival
DANBURY â The Community Cancer Collaborative invites cancer survivors, caregivers, physicians, nurses, family members, and friends to submit an original piece of art that symbolize their personal feelings about cancer for display at the âJoy of Survival â Expressions of the Cancer Journey through Artâ exhibit.
The art show will take place at The Praxair Cancer Center at Danbury Hospital. There will be an opening night reception on Thursday, June 2, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. The show will then remain on view until June 30, daily from 8 am until 8 pm.
The staff from The Praxair Cancer Center at Danbury Hospital, American Cancer Society, and Annâs Place/The Home of I Can hope to display drawings, paintings, photography, poetry, handwork or sculpture, to name a few examples. Organizers are hoping for a broad variety of artworks.
The monthlong exhibit will display artwork created by cancer survivors and others who are touched by cancer as an expression of their journey. This is not a fundraising event nor will the artwork be for sale.
All artwork must be framed, ready to hang or placed in a binder for display.
The deadline to submit entries is Monday, March 21.
