Begins At The Homesteads
The Homesteads At Newtown Retirement Community is hosting an Alzheimerâs Support Group on alternating Thursday evenings at 7 pm; the next session is March 10. Families, friends and caregivers of the memory-impaired are invited to attend and share their experiences and concerns in dealing with their challenges.Â
Professional counselor and therapist Rev Bob Werme leads the support group. Rev Werme is pastoral care coordinator with Hospice and Palliative Care of the Connecticut VNA in Waterbury. Assisting Reverend Werme is Neena Finch, the recreation coordinator for The Homesteads At Newtownâs GardenWalk Neighborhood for residents with Alzheimerâs or Memory-Impairment.
