Lorelei C. Ames, 66, of Sandy Hook died peacefully in Connecticut Hospice March 7. Born in Bath, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Betty Davis White.

Ms Ames resided most of her life in Newtown. She was a graduate of Newtown High School, Class of 1968, and worked as an assembler for Branson Ultrasonics until her retirement.

She had a competitive drive that was shared by her children, who enjoyed playing a variety of games with her. She was a talented duckpin bowler and won a local tournament. To her family and friends delight, she found great joy in creating and giving away beautiful jewelry to those she cared about. Ms Ames loved getting to know people and quickly made friends. She touched many people throughout her life and will be missed deeply by all who knew her.

A devoted wife, and loving mother and grandmother, she will be remembered by her beloved husband of 46 years, William Ames; her children, Frederick Ames of Newtown and Beverly Carter of Cocoa, Fla.; her cherished grandchildren, Stephanie, Garrett, and Travis; by her dear sister, Beverly Welch of Brownsburg, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, her brother, Douglas White, predeceased Ms Ames.

Services for Ms Ames will be private.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford CT 06405.
