HARTFORD — Taxpayers who have been unable to resolve long-term federal income tax problems by mail or phone can try something different – a face-to-face meeting.

The IRS is taking appointments for meetings with IRS employees at an IRS Problem Solving Day, which will be held on Tuesday, March 21, from 12:30 until 6:30 pm at the IRS field office at 24 Belden Avenue in Norwalk. Taxpayers can call 860/756-4556 to make an appointment.

Taxpayers who have unresolved tax problems but who cannot attend a Problem Solving Day can get help at any time from the IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service office by calling 877/777-4778.
