Try A Little Friendliness
Try A Little Friendliness
(The following open letter to the Childrenâs Adventure Center has been received for publication.)
To Whom It May Concern:
Was the action taken on Monday, March 3, really necessary? Wouldnât you say sending two police officers to the Newtown Senior Center because of a parking situation a little extreme? As we are all aware, there are other things those officers could have been doing.
There has been a parking problem at the center for years now. Our schedule has been the same for quite a while now. Your buses donât come until 11:45 am and our exercise classes are completed at 11:30 am. There was no need for your actions.
A telephone call or visit to the center would have been more appropriate. As you are not here on a daily basis how could you truly evaluate the entire situation?
We had a room full of seniors and there were quite a few that were troubled by the sight of two police officers. Iâm sure that you would feel the same if you witnessed your children getting upset by the sight of the officers if they came into the CAC.
It is time for you to be a little friendlier. I for one, and all of us, have been more than co-operative and mostly courteous.
Thank you
