Bolander

IBM Consultant And #1 Dad

Robert G. Bolander, 52, of Danbury, husband of Sharon (Streaman) Bolander, died March 4 at Danbury Hospital. Mr Bolander was born in Norwalk, April 10, 1955, son of Jayne (Dreher) Bolander of Southbury and the late Robert J. Bolander.

In addition to his wife and mother, Mr Bolander is survived by a son, Bart Bolander of Danbury; a daughter, Arica L. Bolander of Milford; three sisters, Lori Britton of Newtown, Pamela Bickel of Coconut Creek, Fla., and Catherine Govin of Ridgefield; two brothers, William Bolander and Frank Bolander, both of Millerton, N.Y.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins.

Raised in Ridgefield and Danbury, he attended Ridgefield schools, Immaculate High School, where he excelled in football and baseball, and graduated from Danbury High School, Class of 1973. He then attended Arizona State University and Western Connecticut State University.

Married to the former Sharon Streaman in 1980, Mr Bolander was a consultant with IBM. An area resident all his life, he enjoyed sports, was an avid New York Yankees fan, and was a member of the Danbury War Memorial. He enjoyed following his children in their sports and school activities. As a #1 Dad, his children were always on the top of his list.

 A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, March 7, at 10:30 am, in St Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Routes 25 and 133, Brookfield, with the Reverend Samuel V. Scott, pastor, officiating. Interment will take place in Gerow Cemetery, New Fairfield, in the spring. Calling hours were scheduled at the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Avenue, Danbury, Thursday, March 6, from 5 to 8 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Danbury Hospital Development Fund for Oncology Nursing Services, 24 Hospital Avenue, Danbury CT 06810 would be greatly appreciated.
