Robert Ballantine and Colleen Gibbons

Robert and Bonnie Gibbons of Newtown announce the engagement of their daughter, former Newtown resident Colleen Gibbons, currently of Hampstead, Md., and Robert Ballantine, also of Hampstead. His parents are Robert and Carol Ballantine of Bel Air, Md.

Colleen is a 1987 graduate of Newtown High School. She is a former student of Pennsylvania College of Technology and Art, and is employed as a web designer by Affinion Group.

A former student of Frostburg University in Maryland, Rob is a scientist/aquatic biologist for EA Engineering, Science and Technology, Inc.

An October 2008 destination wedding is being planned.
