Nathan Liverant And Son To Move To Winter Antiques Show In 2009
Â
COLCHESTER, CONN. â âWe are beyond excited,â was the shared reaction from Arie L. Kopelman, chairman of the Winter Antiques Show, and Catherine Sweeney Singer, executive director of the show, when announcing that Nathan Liverant and Son of Colchester, Conn., was going to join the Winter Antiques Show in January, 2009. âArthur Liverant has a great team and is a perfect match for the show, a win-win deal,â Mr Kopelman said. Catherine Sweeney Singer added, âWe are all thrilled and have been hoping for years that they would return to the show.â
Arthur Liverant said, âThe timing is right and we are looking forward to doing the Winter Antiques Show. Our one regret is that we will be leaving TAAS, where we have had wonderful shows and enjoyed the company of both our fellow exhibitors and the American Folk Art Museumâs management. We wish TAAS continued success as we take this step for our firm.â
Nathan Liverant and Son is no stranger to the Winter Show, having been an exhibitor there from 1959 to 1970 when Zeke Liverant was alive. âThat was my first contact with the Winter Show,â Arthur Liverant said, âas I would go to New York, stay across the street at the Mayfair House, and help my father pack out at the end of the show.â
Also returning to the Winter Show after a yearâs absence will be Lowy Frame and Restoring Company of New York City.
The Winter Antiques Show will open a week later in 2009 due to the activities planned around the swearing in of a new president in Washington, D.C. The show will run January 23âFebruary 1, with the gala preview party on Thursday, January 22.
