SHORTIES WALTERS LECTURE ON HUBBLE TELESCOPE

BALTIMORE, MD. — On Sunday, April 13, the Walters Art Museum will host a lecture at 2 pm at the Graham Auditorium. “The Universe According to the Hubble Space Telescope,” by Mario Livio, senior astrophysicist, Space Telescope Science Institute, is free to members and $10 for nonmembers.

By bringing a glimpse of the universe’s wonders to homes worldwide, the Hubble has allowed the public to participate, in the excitement of discovery. In this talk in conjunction with “Mapping the Cosmos,” Livio will present a panoramic view of Hubble findings. He will cover topics ranging from the solar system and extrasolar planets to dark matter and dark energy. In a journey from our cosmic backyard to the farthest corners of the universe, Livio will show the latest images taken by Hubble and explain their significance.
