John Miller

US Marine Corps Veteran

John “Pete” Miller, 76, of Newtown, previously of Brookfield, died March 2 at Danbury Hospital. Mr Miller was born November 26, 1931, in Yonkers, N.Y., the son of Thomas and Margaret (Patton) Miller.

He was a partner of Bob’s Auto Parts, served in the US Marine Corps during Korea, was a member of Union Lodge 40 AF & AM, the Pyramid Temple of Milford, and the Candlewood Shrine 2. He was a captain of a charter fishing boat, and an avid hunter.

He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Kondrat of Brookfield; one sister, Peggy Thurlow and her husband, Greg, of New Milford; two brothers, James Miller and his wife, Loretta, of Danbury and Robert Miller of New Fairfield; and by his former wife, Juliann Miller of Brookfield; three grandchildren, Brittany, Ryan, and John Kondrat; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Louis Andreko.

Calling hours were scheduled at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, Thursday, March 6, from 4 to 5 pm, where a funeral service was held at 5 pm, followed by a Masonic Service at 5:30 pm. Cremation services will be held in private.

A memorial service will be announced in the spring.

The family would like memorial donations to be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital of Boston, 51 Blossom Avenue, Boston MA 02114.
