Four Charges Lodged In Sugar St. Incident

Police arrested a local man on four criminal charges on the morning of March 2 following an incident at a Sugar Street residence.

Aidon Young, 18, of 79 Hattertown Road was arrested on charges of first-degree burglary, first-degree criminal trespassing, criminal violation of a restraining order, and violation of probation, police said.

Police said they received a telephone call complaint from a male resident of the Sugar Street home about 9:20 am, in which they learned that Young had sneaked into the home the previous night to visit his girlfriend, who is the stepdaughter of the male complainant.

The man called police after finding Young hiding underneath a bed, police said.

As the man attempted to keep Young from fleeing, the man’s stepdaughter used her hands to punch and scratch her stepfather, police said.

After police arrived at the home, they investigated, learning that a court restraining order was in effect against Young requiring him to stay away from the man and his stepdaughter.

Police then arrested Young on the four charges and held him on $30,000 bail for a March 3 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.

Young was being held on March 4 on $100,000 bail in the Bridgeport Correctional Center.

Police also arrested Young’s girlfriend on charges of disorderly conduct and third-degree assault.

Because the girl is age 16 or 17, she is considered a “youthful offender” under state law and her identity is shielded from disclosure by police. Police released the girl on a written promise to appear March 3 in Danbury Youthful Offender Court.
