Walter B.  Chovau, Jr

Walter B. “Skip” Chovau, Jr, 56, died March 2 from injuries sustained from a fall at his home in Bethlehem.

Mr Chovau was born December 20, 1946, in White Plains, N.Y., son of the late Walter, Sr, and Marie (Kreffer) Chovau.

He was a loving father to his son, Daniel Chovau of Phoenix, Ariz., and he leaves two sisters, Roberta Johnson and her husband John, of Southbury, formerly of Newtown, and Richarda “Riki” Chovau of Middlebury; his niece and nephew, Rebecca Johnson and John Johnson, Jr; and his aunt and uncle, Anne and Thomas Kreffer of Vermont.

He was raised in Brookfield and was a graduate of Henry Abbott Technical School. Mr Chovau was an electrician working at various jobs. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he loved the music of the 60s and 70s. He was a resident of Bethlehem for 16 years and a certified EMT.

Mr Chovau was a loving, kind-spirited person who will be deeply missed by family and friends.

Calling hours were scheduled for March 6 from 5 to 7 pm at Carpino Funeral Home, 750 Main Street South, Southbury. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethlehem Ambulance Association, PO Box 401, Bethlehem, CT 06751.
