Jeannette M. Talarino, 61, wife of James P. Talarino of Sugar Street, Newtown, died March 1 in Bridgeport Hospital.
Mrs Talarino was born in Bridgeport April 11, 1941, daughter of the late Steve and Jeannette (Lebrun) Duhancik. She is a graduate of Central High School, Bridgeport.
A resident of Newtown for several years, Mrs Talarino was employed as a telephone operator for Southern New England Telephone Company in Waterbury, retiring in 2001. She had recently been employed by the Taunton Press Company in Newtown. A former union steward, she was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She was a member of the Flagpole Photographers Camera Club and an avid boating and fishing enthusiast.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Penny Talarino of East Haven; three brothers, Steve Duhancik and David Duhancik, both of Fall River, Mass., and Timothy Duhancik of Newtown; two sisters, Bernadette Trafka and Susan Smith of Derby; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Friday, March 7, at noon, at St Rose of Lima Church, Newtown. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Calling hours were scheduled for Thursday, March 6, from 6 to 9 pm at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown.
