Doing The Right Thing
Doing The Right Thing
To the Editor:
A big thank you to the Newtown Planning and Zoning Commission for doing the right thing! The Buddhist Temple does not belong on Boggs Hill Road or any other residential neighborhood in Newtown because it is not in harmony with a quiet, peaceful home front. When all the facts were uncovered (through much hard work as the monks were not forthcoming with the truth of the future use of the property) the decision is indeed a wise one.
Thank you to Mr Fogliano for standing his ground and suggesting the Buddhists look for other suitable property in town. Thank you to Mr Colburn, as well, for all his effort and determination to this cause. It is gratifying to know that the voice of the people is sometimes listened to. Newtown residents should be grateful that a group of concerned citizens took the time to make a positive difference.
