Photographer At Bird Club Meeting

SOUTHBURY — Bird photographer John Longstreth will present a slide-illustrated lecture concerning a recent winter birding trip to south Texas during the next meeting of Western Connecticut Bird Club.

The lecture will focus upon the lower Rio Grande from Falcon Dam to Brownsville and areas up the coast through the King Ranch to Rockport, Texas. It will feature such well-known birding areas as Bentsen State Park, Santa Ana NWR, Laguna Atacosta NWR, South Padre Island, and Aransas NWR where Whooping Cranes winter.

Western Connecticut Bird Club will be meeting on Thursday, March 16, at 7:30 pm at Rochambeau Middle School, on Peter Road. The public is welcome, free of charge. For further information, call 744-8323 or 203/938-9165.
