BETHEL â Bethel Arts Junctionâs next show will be an exhibition featuring the Redding artist Pat Hinkley, entitled âThe Butterfly As A Symbol.â Ms Hinkleyâs series of oil pastel paintings looks at the butterflyâs universal sense of symbolism in relation to potential transformation in human life.
The exhibition will be open from March 18 to April 8. Mark Hinkley will play jazz piano at the opening reception, planned for Saturday, March 18, from 5 to 7 pm.
Bethel Arts Junction is a new artistsâ cooperative gallery located at 5 Depot Place (the old railroad station). Gallery hours are Wednesday, 12 to 5 pm; and Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 12 to 9 pm. Poetry readings are held every Wednesday at 7:30 pm.
Pat Hinkley has been an artist since 1972, and a holistic consultant in private practice since 1994. âThe Butterfly As A Symbolâ has been presented in different forms at The Gathering Place, a Hartford restaurant; The Wittingham Center at Norwalk Hospital; The Cancer Center at New Milford Hospital; and The Connecticut Hospice.
