St Patrick’s Day Edition Of Flagpole Radio Café This Weekend At Edmond Town Hall

The Newtown Cultural Arts Commission will present a St Patrick’s Day edition of The Flagpole Radio Café on Saturday, March 7, at 7 pm. The event will return to The Alexandria Room at Edmond Town Hall.

Tickets are $10, or $5 ages 13 and under. Reservations can be made online by visiting the Newtown Cultural Arts Commission home page at NewtownArtsCommission.org and clicking on the Flagpole Radio Café link.

Reservations are not needed, however. Walk-ins are welcome to the event; admission can be paid at the door.

The Saint Patrick’s Day edition of the café will feature a variety of traditional Irish music by the Radio Café Orchestra. It will also feature highlights from producer Martin Blanco’s rollicking comedy Irish Authors Held Hostage, which has enjoyed successful productions in Washington, D.C., and the Fringe Festival in New York City.

Special guests this month will be The Shamrogues, who are the performance group of The Shamrock Traditional Irish Music Society. The group performs jigs, reels, hornpipes, marches, waltzes, polkas, ballads, slides and other traditional Irish music on a vast variety of traditional Irish instruments.

Finally, returning to the café this weekend will be Stacy Phillips, the dobro performer who was last month’s special guest.

For additional information about the commission or Flagpole Radio Café call 364-0898.
