Brooke Rogers Bayles, age 39, of Newtown, passed away February 22, 2024, at Waterbury Hospital. She lived in Newtown for most of her life.

Brooke loved the outdoors — camping, hiking, water sports, especially swimming. She was a nationally ranked and state-ranked swimmer during her teenage years, and she swam for the Wilton Wahoos and the Newtown High School Girls Swim Team.

Brooke was witty and smart. She had a mischievous twinkle in her eye, a wonderful sense of humor, and was always there to help others, to offer solutions, to commiserate when times were tough — a true friend. We are grateful to know she is at peace.

Brooke is survived by her parents, James and Trina Bayles; her sister, Jennifer Bayles Conley; her brother-in-law, Jason Conley; her nephew, James Conley; Katherine Bayles (twin sister); her children, Kayla Bayles, Briana Garafalo, Summer Day, Emily Day; and many cousins, aunts, and uncles.

A memorial service will be held in the spring.
