Resiliency Center To Host Mind-Body Medicine Skills Group
The Resiliency Center of Newtown (RCN) announces a new offering: Mind-Body Medicine Skills Group.beth@resiliencycenterofnewtown.org.resiliencycenterofnewtown.org for additional information about this and other RCN offerings, all offered free of charge for Newtown residents.
Taught by integrative medicine physician Jennifer Phelps, MD, the powerful, effective combination of research-based healing therapies will help participants and their families deal with life changes, stress, trauma, anxiety, and /or depression.
Attendees will learn self-care skills to take control and improve their quality of life.
Mind-body skills group are highly experiential and integrate techniques such as autogenic training, meditation, guided imagery, breath work, movement, drawing, and other approaches into a supportive group environment.
The RCN series will meet for six weeks, Thursday, March 15, through Thursday, April 26; there will not be a session on April 19. Sessions will run two hours, from 10 am until noon.
