Snowy Road

Motorist Victor George, 66, of Easton was driving a 1997 Ford Ranger pickup truck westward near 55 Great Hill Road at about 3 pm February 23, when the vehicle went out of control on the slippery road, went off the right road shoulder and struck a tree, according to police.

George was not injured. Police issued him a written warning for traveling too fast for conditions.

Dodgingtown Collision

About 6:17 pm February 24, motorist Joan Plouffe, 45, of 9 Sturges Road was driving a 2009 Honda Pilot SUV westward on Dodgingtown Road (Route 302), as motorist Amelia Shwartz, 23, of 52 Flat Swamp Road, who was driving a 2002 Volkswagen Cabriolet convertible, was attempting to make a right turn from Flat Swamp Road onto eastbound Dodgingtown Road, police report.

The Volkswagen made the right turn too widely, resulting in the two vehicles colliding, police said. There were no injuries. Police said they issued Shwartz a written warning for a moving violation.

Warrant

After learning that police held a warrant for her arrest, Nicole Cain, 22, of Willington, turned herself over to police at the police station on the morning of March 1 and was charged with second-degree failure to appear in court, failure to obey a stop sign, driving with a suspended license, and driving an unregistered vehicle, police report.

Police said the charges stem from an original incident last September 16 in which Cain allegedly drove a 2001 Cadillac past a stop sign without stopping at the intersection of Great Hill Road and Taunton Hill Road.

Cain appeared on the charges March 1 in Danbury Superior Court, police said.

Past Incident

After learning that police held a warrant for his arrest, Zachary Kline, 21, of Trumbull turned himself in at the police station on the morning of March 1 and was charged with failure to respond to an infraction, possession of alcohol in a motor vehicle by a minor, driving with a suspended license, and driving an unregistered vehicle.

Police said the charges stem from an original incident last June 24 in which police stopped Kline who was driving a 1997 Jeep Cherokee on Main Street. At that time, Kline was under age 21.

Kline appeared on the charges on March 1 in Danbury Superior Court, police said.
