Gardening Practices And

Their Affect On Rivers

Margery Winters will present a program called “How Gardening Practices Affects Our Rivers” during the next meeting of The Town and Country Garden Club, on Wednesday, March 14. The meeting and program will be at Newtown Senior Center, on Riverside Road in Sandy Hook. The public is invited, free of charge.

Ms Winters is the director of research and programs of Rivers Alliance of Connecticut, a non-profit, state-wide river conservation coalition founded in 1992 to address river conservation and protection issues throughout the state. She is also a nature instructor at Roaring Brook Nature Center in Canton and a legislatively-appointed member of Clean Energy Fund, and she serves on Simsbury Inland Wetland/Conservation Commission.

The Town and Country meeting/program will begin at 7:30 pm. For additional information call Arline Shanley at 426-2652.
