James R. “Jim” Dolan, 88, of Captain’s Cove, Greenbackville, Va., died February 28 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born July 12, 1917, in Hoboken, N.J., he was the last of 21 children of Peter and Anna Witt Dolan.

Mr Dolan and his wife, the late Adelaide E. Dolan, were residents of Nunnawauk Meadows in Newtown from 1985 to 2000. Both were active members of St Rose of Lima Catholic Church during their time in Newtown.

Mr Dolan was also a member of the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Pocomoke City, Md.

A daughter, Anne Marie Ryan and her husband, John; a son James R. Dolan, Jr and his wife, Maureen, all of Captain’s Cove; six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews all survive him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, March 4, at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Pocomoke City, officiated by the Rev William J. Porter.

Arrangements are being handled by Holloway Melson Funeral Home, 103 Linden Avenue, Pocomoke City, Md.
