Donald J. Rux, 69, of Woodbury, formerly of Danbury, died February 24 at Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of Gail (Mortensen) Rux. He was born on April 14, 1936, in Danbury, son of Fritz E. and Jean (Ferguson) Rux.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his sons and daughters, Donald Rux and his wife, Karyee, of Sandy Hook, Greg Rux and his wife, Joanne, of Danbury, Donna Rux-Hyman and her husband, Eric, of Woodbury, Mark Rux and his wife, Jennifer, of Kent, and Lori Augustine and her husband, Tony, of Brookfield; his eight grandchildren, Carrie, Shawn, Jason, Matthew, Kelly, Kimberly, Kyle, and Michael; and his dog, beloved companion Harry.
Prior to retirement he was a self-employed painting contractor. He was a member of Candlewood Sportsman Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycles, and bowling.
Graveside services were held at Wooster Cemetery in Danbury on February 27.
