Wednesday Night Poetry Series Returning
Wednesday Night Poetry
Series Returning
BETHEL â The longest-running poetry open-mic series in the state of Connecticut, Wednesday Night Poetry Series (WNPS) will end its winter hiatus with an Exotic, Neurotic, Erotic Open Mic Night at Molten Java Coffee Roasters on March 7.
Poets are invited to share thematic works. Doors will open at 7, sign-ups begin at 7:15, and readings will start at 7:30.
WNPS was founded in 1995 by then-Newtown resident Faith Vicinanza. Weekly programs offer featured poets, workshops, themed evenings, and a welcoming open-mic community. The series was most recently presented at The Garage, Newtownâs teen center, but went on a mid-winter hiatus. A few programs, according to Ms Vicinanza, have been scheduled to take place at Molten Java (see the Enjoy Calendar, in print and online, for details), but Ms Vicinanza is hoping to secure a new location to bring the series back to Newtown.
Molten Java is at 213 Greenwood Avenue in Bethel; call 203-739-0313. For WNPS information visit wedpoetry.wordpress.com.
