Senior Center Needs More Space
Senior Center Needs More Space
To the Editor,
I am a senior who uses the Newtown Senior Center meal program. Lenore DeLucia is our café manager. She cooks and prepares the food and has volunteers who serve and clean up. The town, state and company inspectors are in frequently and make sure the meals are hot and the kitchen and personnel are clean.
The center provides many other activities such as exercise, Zumba, yoga, chair yoga, tai chi, chorus, painting, billiards, table tennis, cards and board games. Our current space is not large enough to accommodate the classes. We will soon have to turn people away. The parking lot is not adequate to handle the number of cars we presently have, and as many more seniors are coming to make use of the facilities, it will be increasingly overcrowded.
It is time to move on and solve this problem.
