The Budget Process

To the Editor:

We are pleased to announce that the approved Board of Selectmen and Board of Education budgets can now be viewed on line at www.independentpartyofnewtown.com. IPN was created to bring heightened awareness to the people of Newtown through open communication and a government that is responsive to its citizens. We believe that all citizens should have the opportunity to view the budgets before casting their vote.

We also encourage your participation in the budget process as it is now being deliberated by the Board of Finance and Legislative Council. We welcome your comments and suggestions as to how we can work together as a community to bring forth a budget that is fiscally responsible, that addresses the needs of the town, and that moves our town forward.
