Girls’ 8thGrade Travel Results:

 

Newtown 41, New Fairfield 33

 Newtown beat New Fairfield at home behind Jessica Jowdy’s 17 points and Abby Doski’s 8 points. Jowdy and Doski were a combined 9-for-10 from the foul line.

Alyssa Finkenstadt, Jessica Lynch and Meghan Condon added 4 points apiece and also helped beat the press in the fourth quarter. Nora Murphy, Kendall Svanda and Stefanie Clavette had great defensive efforts in the win.

 

Newtown 58, Brookfield 22

 Newtown beat Brookfield on the road behind a season high 17 points from Jessica Lynch. Alyssa Finkenstadt added 12 points on 6-for-10 shooting from the floor.

All of Newtown’s players scored. Abby Doski, Riley Wurtz, Jessica Jowdy and Meghan Condon had 8, 7, 6 and 3 points respectively. Nora Murphy, Kendall Svanda and Arianna Papaj also scored. The players on the team combined for 21 steals in the contest.
