Charles “Chuck” Michael Reichardt, 83, of Newtown died peacefully on Saturday, February 23, in his home, after his two-year battle with cancer. Chuck was born in Bridgeport on June 20, 1935, the son of Myrtle and Harry Reichardt.

He was an avid outdoorsman. Chuck enjoyed hunting and fishing with friends and family. He stood out in the crowd with his Stetson plumed with a pheasant feather. No matter how he was feeling, he was always happy to see you and the first to lend a hand to his family, friends, and neighbors.

Chuck is survived by his four daughters, Amy Reichardt, Ginny Moseley, Julie Bailey, and Penny Miller; his two step-children, Christine and Robert; his six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his two sisters, Gay and Joyce.

Chuck is predeceased by his wife, Kathleen “Kathy” Reichardt; and his brothers, Harry “Happy” Reichardt and George “Richie” Reichardt.

Chuck requested no funeral services. Help a friend, take a walk in the woods, catch a fish, or shoot a deer in his memory.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
