Letter Of Endorsement
To the Editor:
I am writing in support of Bill Bradley for the Democratic presidential nomination in the March 7th Connecticut primary. Bradley is the candidate with the intelligence, integrity and courage needed to be President of the United States.
His intellectual capacity for the job is irrefutable. A Princeton graduate and Rhodes scholar, Bradley has demonstrated during his time in the Senate and on the campaign trail that he is more than qualified to fully comprehend the complex issues he would face in his presidency.
Neither can anyone challenge his integrity and character. At a time when Americans have lost confidence in the ability of the president and politicians in general to provide moral leadership, Bill Bradley brings unimpeachable integrity and character to the office of the presidency.
However, what most separates Bill Bradley from the field is his courage to take on the establishment, challenge Washington âpolitics as usualâ and provide leadership for the problematic issues of the new century. He offers bold solutions on health care, gun control, campaign finance reform, race relations and child povertyâissues which, if left unresolved, will impact the quality of our lives and the lives of our children.Â
But while others may offer similar ideas or co-opt his proposals outright, it is Bradley alone that I believe will have the courage to ignore the polls, take on the political insiders and lobbyists, and lead without equivocation to implement real solutions. How confident are you that Al Gore could do the same?
That is why I urge Newtown Democrats to vote for Bill Bradley for the Democratic presidential nomination on March 7th.
