Edelman Leather Moves

To Larger Headquarters

NEW MILFORD — Teddy & Arthur Edelman, Ltd, marketer, producer and stylist of leather for residential, aircraft and contract use, announces its relocation to 80 Pickett District Drive in New Milford.

After 12 years in Hawleyville, Edelman Leather outgrew its space. To continue the firm’s expansion, the offices, warehouse, customer sales and shipping facility now occupy a 63,000 square foot, one level building. With the help of their 40 employees, Edelman Leather successfully moved on January 1.

Edelman, in the year 2000, will mark its gala anniversary of 50 years of making leather. The company, formerly major suppliers of leathers to the fashion industry, won the Coty Award, the Neiman-Marcus Award, Roscoe Awards, IBD Awards and ADEX Award. Twenty years ago, Teddy and Arthur Edelman (also celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary) decided to make leather specifically for architects and interior designers of aircraft, contract, and residential interiors. “Today, we are expanding our family business because of the involvement of Mary and John, our daughter and son,” said Arthur Edelman.

The Edelman “line” consists of 450 colorways and 25 different types of leather. Their leathers range from aniline dyed cowhides to the wildest vegetable tanned artisan leathers, always maintaining the highest wear standards.

Edelman Leather is sold to the trade through an all leather showroom in New York City and represented in every major city of the United States, as well as London, Hong Kong, China, and Singapore.
