St V’s Healthy Heart Group Meets

BRIDGEPORT — “The Link Between Diabetes & Heart Disease” is the program of the next St. Vincent’s Healthy Hearts Club meeting, Wednesday, March 4, at 7 pm in the Seton Room on Level C of St. Vincent’s Medical Center.

The presentation is free and open to the public.

Featured speaker is endocrinologist and diabetes specialist Joseph Rosa, MD, chief of endocrinology at St Vincent’s Medical Center. Dr Rosa will discuss the consequences of untreated diabetes on the heart and how individuals with the disease can cope with it and limit cardiac damage.

Joseph Rosa, MD, chief of endocrinology at St Vincent’s medical Center and a member of the PriMEd medical practice in Bridgeport, has been involved with diabetes education and prevention activities for a number of years. Selected for the Fairfield County Chapter of the American Diabetes Association Hall of Merit in 1998, Dr Rosa has also served as president of the Connecticut affiliate of the American Diabetes Association. He has also co-chaired the Swim Across the Sound’s Walk to Fight Cancer, Diabetes and Heart Disease.

A question and answer period will follow his presentation to the Healthy Hearts Club. Light refreshments will also be served.

Parking is free with ticket validation in the new Campus Parking Garage immediately in front of St Vincent’s. No registration is necessary.
