MOW Announces Board Members

Meals On Wheels has finalized its board of directors for 2009. Marg Studley and Pat Barrett have been named co-presidents of the organizations for the year.

Additional officers include Lucille LaPerch, vice president; Dolores Judge, secretary; Peg Forbell, treasurer; Sheila Cole, corresponding secretary; Colleen Honan, driver coordinator; Ellyn Gehrett and Dolores Judge, recipient coordinators; Marilyn Alexander and Janet Hovius, recipient interviewers; and Mandy Monaco, publicity.

Each weekday, this nonprofit organization’s volunteer drivers pick up nutritious meals prepared at Masonicare of Newtown and deliver them to persons who are housebound (including elderly people who live alone, and younger people who are temporarily incapacitated). Meals are prepared under the guidance of a dietitian. In addition to regular meals, special diets (including diabetic, low sodium, and soft food) are available. The cost of the meals is very reasonable.
