As Head O' Meadow Elementary School students and parents arrived on Tuesday, February 9, for the school's second annual STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) Night, a number of stations were already prepared with activities.

Head O' Meadow math/science specialist Chrissie Pierce oversaw the evening, and she welcomed those in attendance just after the start of the event. Ms Pierce thanked EverWonder Children's Museum and school PTA members, especially Kelly Albrecht and Melissa Beylouni, for helping to coordinate this year's STEM Night.

EverWonder Children's Museum staff members and volunteers helped oversee a number of activity stations.

Lead Teacher Carol Danenberg oversaw an estimation station for students to estimate how many candies, Hershey Kisses and candy hearts, were in two containers.

At another station, during an open moment, Principal Barbara Gasparine and third grade teacher Bonita Cartoun teamed up to test their "Multiplication Mania" abilities against former school math/science specialist Gail Maletz.

At a fingerprinting station, student Caden McLeod marked his fingerprint on a piece of paper before looking at it under a microscope; across the room students and sisters Lilly and Addy Plummer tested soda cans to see which type of soda would float in water.

A number of parents also helped students make paper trees out of newspaper.
