Irene L. Nanista, 85, of Seymour, beloved wife of the late Joseph S. Nanista, died February 22 at Danbury Hospital. She was born November 16, 1929, in South Orange, N.J., and was the daughter of the late Irene (Searfoss) and Albert Heyeck.

Her devoted children Kathy Ventresca, and her husband Alfred, of Sandy Hook and Jeffrey Nanista, and his wife Rosemary, of Norwalk; and six grandchildren, Kirstyn and Gemma Nanista, Geno, Melena, Alicia, and Haley Ventresc, survive Mrs Nanista. Her son John Nanista predeceased her.

She graduated from West Side High School, Class of 1947, in Newark, N.J.

Funeral services will take place Thursday, February 26, at 7 pm, at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. Calling hours will take place Thursday, from 5 to 7 pm, at the funeral home, prior to the service. Interment will be held in the spring, in Mountain Meadows Cemetery, Seymour.
